Mariel Montero Sena
Chef Mariel Montero Sena is a distinguished culinary professional renowned for bringing authentic Mexican flavors to Edmonton, Alberta. Originally from Puebla, Mexico, she earned a bachelor's degree in culinary arts and traveled extensively to immerse herself in diverse culinary traditions before settling in Edmonton.

In Edmonton, Chef Montero Sena co-founded Huma Mexican Comfort, where she served as owner and chef, contributing significantly to the city's culinary scene. Her vibrant personality and dedication to authentic cuisine led to her participation in the first season of HGTV's "Chopped Canada."

In 2022, she rebranded her restaurant to Luna Cocina Mexicana, enhancing its ambiance with colorful decor and Mexican folk art. The menu showcases traditional dishes like beef tongue tacos and Pozole Rojo, a spicy soup with pork and corn, reflecting her commitment to authentic Mexican cuisine.

Chef Montero Sena's culinary talents have been recognized beyond her restaurant. She appeared on the television show "Dish with Mary," where she prepared Pastel Azteca, a traditional Mexican lasagna, alongside host Mary Mammoliti.
